I could use your good thoughts and prayers (if you're a praying person). It's for a banking position in a branch about 20 miles from my house. The starting pay is great and the job itself is in a smaller community that I am familiar with. Seems like it will be a good fit, as long as I do well in the interview.

Have a Eunos Cosmo for your time.

good luck! I just accepted an offer yesterday after interviewing since memorial day. Turned down a few offers, but finally found the right fit. Just be cool.

As long as you promise to embezzle enough money to buy me that Cosmo I'll wish you luck.

Actually, don't do that it would be illegal. Best of luck.

Thanks, everyone. The interview went pretty well, I think. The interviewers were really laid back and it was a very low pressure environment, which I liked. Blessings are everywhere for me lately, as I have been offered a job with the same company I interviewed with today, only in their mortgage department service center rather than at a branch. The branch job will pay more, but is 21.5 miles from my house. The mortgage job is 4 miles from my house. So, I'll have a tough choice to make if they offer me the branch job as well. Overall, though, the branch job sounds more like a career and not just a "job." But, who knows.

Well, folks, I'll be working again on September 2nd. I decided to accept the mortgage service center job that is close to my house. Mainly because the drive to the other job wasn't fun, nor will it prolong my car's life any (I like not driving much - means my car won't have to be replaced for a long time). Also, the other job was a big, big sales job. Like, sales was the main thing it had to with. I've been in sales...a lot. And I never really enjoyed it because I didn't like pressuring people to make decisions they may not be comfortable with. And, this job was in such a small town (less than 1,000 people), the manager pretty much flat out told me that most customers won't want to deal with me for a long time because I'm not from there and they won't want to deal with me.

The job in the branch in the small town will pay about a dollar more per hour, but that will go directly towards gas in my car for the drive. And of course moving up will be more difficult there because the branch has four employees and they have all been there forever. I'm pretty sure if the other person they interviewed is from the town, they'll give the job to him or her. That's fine, because I haven't even started working at this mortgage job and I already love my boss. The starting pay for her department was lower than what I made when I left the company in February to begin the job I was eventually let go from. I told this current boss that the starting pay wasn't going to work out for me, and she said she wanted me to work there so badly that she offered me an immediate raise. Before I even start! Basically, I'm going to start out being paid what someone who has been there for six months will make. :) So, it's a job. And I'm happy with that.
