...walking through a mall, and I realized I've literally never seen one before. Ever.
I'm guessing these things do not sell very well.

They sell "well enough" to the people who want them.
That demographic are people who want the quietest, most luxurious vehicle ever produced but don't mind if it comes from America and has almost no horsepower and is shaped like a hatchback.

To be fair its still pretty new and it was never going to be a volume model. Still, fewer on the road than Lexus LFA's, so thats something.

I think I've seen two or three in Manhattan. They're pretty unique, so not hard to spot.

The ELR's biggest problem is the Chevy Volt and BMW i8. It's expensive and outdated as soon as it went on sale. It's going to be blown out of the water in every meaningful way by it's cheaper Chevy cousin in a year.

I had an interview for a sales position at a dealership today and I brought up Tesla just as a joke. The interviewer mentioned the ELR and said sales have been terrible.
