My buddy's girlfriend painted this a little while back for someone else but the guy never paid. I knew my lady liked it so I surprised her with it tonight.

Acrylic paint and I think she did it in a day. She somehow gets the right amount of detail in these big, broad brush strokes and blotches. I have no idea how she does it.

Acrylic dries within an hour. Its pretty easy to get that detail if you're deliberate with your brush strokes

I doubt she does either. I've found that stuff looks better if you don't actively try, but just do it until you're suddenly finished.

If you know what you are painting and how you are painting it before you even start, its pretty easy. I wouldnt be surprised (if she'd talented (which she appears to be)) if she popped that out in 2 hours

Yeah, she finishes them pretty quick. Her more detailed stuff takes a while longer but she does these every once in a while.

Ya, my usual stuff takes like 20 hours each. But I do (and am doing right now) some stuff that takes like 2-4 hours. I dont paint, I draw, it takes longer

Yeah she's spends days on her drawings. My roommate does a lot of drawing too. Some of his detailed color pencil stuff takes weeks. Apparently they are special pencils that you can blend and mix. Really cool stuff.

I can't make anything remotely resembling art come out of a pencil or paintbrush, so I really respect this stuff. Do you have any examples of your stuff?

I know the pencils, I have some watercolor pencils, their wild. Mine can take months, Ive been working on the buick off and on since May. But I did completely restart it at one point sooo...
