You read that right. It's one of the Dole bagged salads, which also had something to keep it growing. I actually picked up a wood/earth-like taste. Yuck.

You should always wash before eating. The facilities where these things are bagged and even where the bags manufactured are not exactly 100% sanitary, they are just up to code. Think about how many times salmonella has contaminated something mass produced (like peanut butter) you just can't prevent everything.

I know, you're right

I should also save money and just buy a head of lettuce and the other stuff that's in the bag. If you're gonna wash anyways then you may as well wash and chop!
