So, my uncle has decided to sell his Ferrari 365 GT 2+2. This made me quite sad, as he occasionally lets me drive it. That sadness, however, was quickly replaced when he told me what he planned on replacing it with. As of now, he plans on picking up an F12 Berlinetta (but thats not why I'm posting $kay Bait) and... wait for it...
Are you waiting?
Okay...
A motherf*cking Ford GT.
(¡¡¡¡¡)HERE'S SOME $KAY BAIT BECAUSE I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED!!!!
And an F12 or two at the end, I guess.
Blue F12s are stunning. That is all.

He just had one, but who knows. Maybe he wants one that's less loud and sticky all of the time. Babies freak me out, man.

That's incredible! Yay, your uncle! Be sure to give us pictures of his GT! Is your uncle married?

It's the Oppo version of Pics or It Didn't Happen.

Some people think they are cute. Me? I think they kinda look like aliens...

Ahaha. He is married. I'm sorry, $kay. I feel like you would be a dope aunt though. And I will make sure to take an insane amount of pictures of both cars whenever this ends up happening.

SR20 was a user on Oppo who claimed to have some supercar and always talked about it, but when asked to provide pictures of it, he posted pictures from I think a Google Image search.
Anyways, long story short, SR20 is a "rule" here which basically means we want pictures. I'm not saying I don't believe you, it's just that I think we'd like to see pictures. You know, car pr0n.

Oh, heck. But I look forward to the pictures!

I love classic cars as much as the next guy, especially vintage Ferraris... but F12... sooooooo damn sexy.

Oh! Well, I can't post pics of cars he is planning on owning. I can post one of his 365 though (from my grandfather's shop's website). Fun fact. His 365 had mismatched headlights for like 3 years. One was Lucas, the other was Hella (I think). I don't actually know if my uncle noticed. Or cared.

Gotcha. Good to know. I just posted a picture of his 365 in response to someone else, but here's his Carrera RS because why the hell not. Sorry its off of my instagram. My thing is @smorestm if you would care to verify. Ahaha

Yup. Couldn't agree more. I'm cool with kids from the ages 4-10 and then from 16 onwards. The rest? Not so much.

Dude, fucking awesome. Done anything to the 02 lately?

Unfortunately not. I've been spending a weird amount of time helping my buddy with his Honda CB650 café racer, but bodywork will hopefully start in the next week or two. I want to have her repainted at the same time but can't decided whether or not I want to keep the belt line. I kind of like the way she looks without it... I might've mentioned this in a previous post, but I did get new wheels and some E21 Recaro seats. I just need to refinish the wheels and order some IE suspension parts. This to-do list is never ending. Ahaha.

Tell me about it. Awesome about the CB650. I always look at those old Hondas, but haven't ridden before and already have a money pit. First on my list is saving for a complete suspension overhaul. Roughly $900. Billy HDs, H&R springs, ST front bar. Then putting the 32/36 on. Then wheels I guess. I really like these , they aren't on many 02s and look awesome. Had my calipers rebuilt recently, two pistons frozen on the right and one on the left. Swapping the pads this week or next. But, right now I can't decide if I want an Ansa center pipe or not. It's like $80, but I already set off alarms with the Ansa sport muffler and need to save for the suspension.

The CB is going to be an ongoing project. He just got the frame repainted but last weekend we spent pretty much all weekend completely disassembling it. It's crazy how relatively simple bikes are. I've actually learned a bunch about bikes in the last few weeks from researching random stuff for him.
And I think I want to go full Ireland Engineering coilovers for the new suspension setup, but I really don't want to spend that kind of money right now. I've heard really good things about it, and apparently they aren't too low... Plus a new set up would do wonders for my car. The rear suspension is actually factory and is sagging so much. Those wheels are really cool though. I feel like I've seen something like them on a Datsun 510, but they definitely look like they'd work on an '02. I picked up a set of these , but they're wider and they don't have the black around the lip... and they're not anywhere near as pristine. Definitely jealous of the Ansa sport muffler. I haven't quite figured out which route I want to take for that either. I feel like I would just go for the center pipe for $80. Loud = good, as long as it won't get you a ticket or anything.

You have no idea. I want to see if he can write down a list of every car he's ever owned. That would a) be quite the challenge and b) be an absolutely awe-inspiring list.
![]() 08/08/2014 at 00:04 |

Damn, you should totally see if you can get a list. It's too bad he won't have a gated manual anymore (unless he's got another car with one other than the 365GT) but he definitely chose well when picking replacements.

I am still undecided with the pipe. The wheels you have look cool, I don't really know what I can get away with without rolling the fenders. Possibly a 15x6 with 195/50/15s. I don't even think I'll use the e21 turbines that I bought. Also, I'm sure the coilovers are great, but that's a lot of money and it really seems like overkill. Many 02 owners, even those that autoX, run stage 1s or 2s, or something comparable. You'd save yourself a good chunk and probably still have a great system.

I'll be sad to see the gated shifter go. It was such an experience to drive. Unfortunately it's the last one he has now. He went the flappy paddle route with his F430, but I have to say... That's a whole other type of experience.

I knew what it meant but never knew the origin. Thanks!

I'm not really sure what the max is on unrolled fenders. Mine are rolled out of necessity. My old RSs were 7.5 wide in the rear, and the Gottis are 8. They'll be tight, but the offset makes up for the extra half inch. Turbines always look great though... On pretty much any BMW. Alpina really knows how to make a good looking wheel.
As for the suspension, I'll probably end up running IE Stage 2 springs because I won't be patient enough to save up the extra $1000+. My only concern with the stage 2s is that the car will be higher than it currently sits, which I don't particularly want. I know a lot of people running stage 2s with half a coil cut, but cutting coils is one of those things that I'd like to avoid if I can.

awwww a gated manual F430 would be awesome... Those are hard to come by, as well.

I know. I was kind of surprised that he didn't get the manual, but when he got it all of his other cars were manuals so I think he wanted something that he could drive without it being a whole lot of drama...
And now that I've typed that out, and remembered that I'm talking about a Ferrari F430, it sounds completely insane.
