A question I keep trying to ask, but keep forgetting.

Good question. Now I'm really curious...

Apparently Pirelli has some. . .

I suspect the same people who make these.

Cousins with Evan Slab.

If you miraculously had a good alignment, I wonder if they'd last really long due to the enormous circumference.

Possibly but I don't think so. I am not sure why, but I have a feeling you will only get 5 to 10k out of these.

Those wheels and tires are probably rolling predatory loans.

donks are growing on me a bit. Strange. I kinda like the nasty 70's cars being refurbished into good condition. Someday they'll takethe ridiculous wheels off them and we'll have a decent car leftover.

Giants.

I have always wondered if the stress of moving a larger heavier wheels burn up power steering pumps more quickly.

I agree, but I feel that way only beacause I think these things are probably just impossible to align well. Other than that, I can't see how (more rubber) =/= (more miles), assuming they're kept at the right air pressure and stuff. I mean, you know these things aren't driven that hard, or the car'd tip over. haha

Possibly but a lot of people put sticky rubber on their car and race them with no problems. . . so my answer is.
I don't know.

You say that, but I have a feeling it is just the exterior that is repaired and the rest is left how they bought it.

Besides the aforementioned Pirelli, Lexani apparently makes tires. I also found a bunch of Chinese off-brands I've never heard of: Delinte ( pdf ), Aderenza, Durun, Fullrun, Fullway, Lionhart, Sentury , likely more.

Oh yeah. Pumps, ball joints, bushings, wheel bearings, axles/u-joints all wear out much faster. In my career, the cars I've worked on with cheap/heavy or oversized wheels tend to have many more problems than cars with high-quality, correctly-sized or factory wheels.

likely so.
