My experience with rebates is like this: They never go through ever. Even when I've done everything perfectly they just don't ever go through. Fuck rebates. Bait and switch bullshit.

Thought about downsizing? I know some Mustang guys run smaller wheels than stock. The smaller the cheaper!

Honestly the rim size doesn't bother me too much, went from the stock 18's to my current 19's. But the 235 width is what killed me. No traction accelerating or turning. Right now I have 275's on all 4 corners and it made a world of difference.

Hey man, whatever works for you. I thought about going up to 18" wheels for the FRS. Then I saw prices and that I could actually fit more rubber if I went down to 17". Cheaper and larger! Win win really!

Looks good both ways. I was pretty much 50/50 between a used mustang and the FRS/BRZ. I still drool a little every time I see one

I just put a set of these on my S2k, and I am pretty impressed. They have all kinds of stick, and they are pretty quiet about it too. I have only put a couple hundred, maybe, miles on them, and very few in real anger, but just making Tron turns through intersections is pretty fun

The problem I have with these is tire life. They are probably great for a weekend driver, but this is my daily driver during the non winter months. . . or if I want to save on gas(public transport is free to students!!). So I don't see these lasting more than 10k. I want something that will last at least 20k miles, or about 2 to 2.5 years of driving.

Went to check this out. I need more tires like a hole in the head. Anyway, they were still $986 in my size after rebate. Bummer. The Hankook RS3, which is probably actually a better tire for my purposes (track only), is only $860 a set.

I don't know if it will make you feel any better but I'm going on year 2 of my Potenza RE-11's and they seem to be holding up pretty well.
