If they scanned in the Nurburgring I might actually come back to iRacing.

I actually don't want the big track. Some people will say the racing there doesn't suck. I'll tell those people that the racing there sucks. There are plenty of long straights to allow overtaking, but in most of the twisty sections there's no way by as the track is narrow and the racing line is even more narrow. It might be fun to lap but you half of iRacing would be disqualified before the end of lap 1.

Yeah, I tried out the v8 supercars last week at road atlanta... crashtastic. Nordschleife would be chaos.

V8SC is a no downforce horsepower monster. Hard to judge the ring on a car like that. GT3 cars on iRacing are notably faster than the V8SC despite having less power. GT3 cars I believe are the fastest to run the ring.

I'd love to have it eventually, but not yet. Plenty other tracks to fill out the stable with rather than delaying them for the NS.

I just reposted to Oppo. It is worth it because of the free 3 month promo. If you do sign up please feel free to use rterps@charter.net as someone who referred you. It would cost $10 to iRacing for you to get 3 months free lol

I don't understand this mentality. The track is one that will be extremely "popular" in how many people want to do laps on it, but I just don't think the actual racing will be popular. I think you'd see plenty of practice sessions full of people but the actual races much less full. Plus why come back for the ability to race a track 1 week out of 12? Just doesn't make any sense.

Yep, GT3 cars do the Nordschleife alone in significantly less than 6:50. Basically, a SLS and an R8 did a 6:40 lap during private testing. Makes the Zonda R and Ferrari 599XX, both 700+ hp cars compared to the 500hp GT3s look slow.

I may have missed this all together, but which version of the track will they be using... If indeed they will be using any of the Nurburgring - it wasn't specifically mentioned. I would hope its implied, but you never know.

Nurburgring GP, the BES doesn't use the Nordschleife.
