Used 2-day shipping to get my PCM to ZZP for tuning in hopes it would be quick. Nope. They've had it for a week now and no word from them, and they haven't even shipped it back yet.
I sent an email Saturday.. no response but I don't think they're open on weekends. Getting a bit frustrated now because I need my car. Buh.

What happened?

Such a waste of cereal. smh

It's just Cheerio's. Maybe something was clogging the toilets "arteries".
![]() 08/03/2014 at 22:23 |

That probably cost $3.59 in todays economy. That's almost a gallon of gas some places.

But what about the toilets! They need to be heart healthy. Especially ones at Taco Bell.

You're going to need a lot more than $3.59 in Cheerios to repair the heart in a Taco Bell toilet,

i just paid $4.03 per gallon 10 minutes ago (0%ethanol 93 octane) shell is $3.57 here for 93

Once a week, maybe give it an apple or 2, and it should be good to go. Got to keep up with maintenance.

I think shitty E10 here in my town is $3.8x. 91 is the best around here I think and it's like $4.15+ depending on the station.

i live right next to a gas line + transport filling station. Since the truckers drive like 2 miles to deliver the gas I get good prices. I could pay $11/gal for 110 octane unleaded VP racing fuel (one day I'll have something that benefits :3)

Lucky. I'm always going to put 91 in my cars because it doesn't have ethanol in it. No matter how much more it costs.

Damn. I could have tuned it for you. Worth getting a spare and having your OE tune pushed to it. hope you get it back soon!

Yeah, there's a guy in town with HPTuners so if I ever need anything tuned again I'll just buy a credit (hate that system) and head over to his place and get it done in an hour. Annoyingly I found out about this guy an hour after sending off my PCM. Bah.
What software do you use for tuning?

i have 87, 89, 93, and 110 here. All of it besides the 110 and about half of the gas stations' 93 has ethanol (a local chain that is everywhere here has 0%93 )
![]() 08/03/2014 at 23:07 |

Well typical Fastrac 87 and 89 are E10 and 91 is E free. For some reason they don't have 93. Sunoco or Mobil might but they expensive.

i have shell, bp, and a local chain here (there is one other but its literally only one station and they are expensive w/ethanol)

Where are you? There aren't many Shell's near me that I'm aware of. Usually just Sunoco, Hess, or Fastrac.

around Augusta Georgia (smaller town just outside of it) but untill you get close to Columbia SC you only see small chains, bp, and shell

When I was on vacation we used Shell in CT, I'm sure there are some near me I just don't know where.
![]() 08/03/2014 at 23:22 |

i get shell once every 3 fillups (just because the local 0%fuel does not have as much cleaning power)
![]() 08/03/2014 at 23:23 |

Yeah, I don't understand why they even use Ethanol, it's terrible for non Flex fuel cars.
![]() 08/03/2014 at 23:35 |

and it produces more emissions (fun fact that the spa does not ttate, but europe does)

Fucking corn based fuels. Screw you IndyCar and your only enthanol gas.
![]() 08/04/2014 at 00:00 |

yeah, it really sucks. They need to only sell 0% and E85
![]() 08/04/2014 at 00:08 |

Exactly. Would make it easier and less engine/injector damage.

HP Tuners.
It all depends what you are trying to do by tuning - increase timing (require 93 octane)? That really requires scans to go along with the tunes. Improving shift firmess? Anyone can do that. ZZP not required.
ZZP and any other 'canned tune' - my biggest issue with them is that all they can do on engine performance is get pretty close. If they go too aggressive you pop pistons. If they don't get aggressive people think their tune sucks. If they make the trans shift too hard you blow clutches. Not hard enough and people think they aren't getting what they paid for. I find that a custom tune is the best way - someone in your car, scanning your driving on your fuel with your engine, and you can really get things perfect.
