So, there are MANY brand-spanking new V6 mustangs in my area that are all for sale somewhere between $2000 and $6000 bellow MSRP for the reason of "new one's out in 5 weeks!" I'm considering some of these...

Kinja'd!!!

Anything I should know about them, besides "get a used v8 bro, because torque bro!"?

EDIT: I asked what's good about the V6, and y'all just said "go for the V8!" Well I can't! it's a purchase that my mom is monitoring (no, she is not paying for it, that would be the gift my grandma left me for my 16th birthday) so the V8 is out of the question

That means you can probably get a 2014 GT for what a V6 normally goes for. So my advise would be, get a NEW V8 bro, because torque, bro! And noise!

1. Seriously, V8 bro.

2. I think err'yone knows the new one will be a substantially better car. Like worth $2-6k more. So why not wait?

1. no, can't, mom, em-peh-gues, insurance for a 16Y, reasons

2. no doubt it will, but I want to save money, plus the new one's gonna be marked up, not down!

I think I said to get one with the Performance Package the last time you asked for recommendations. I know you said that you couldn't get a better deal on one with the Performance Package than you could on a V6 Mustang without the package, but I'd recommend checking that again if you think the Performance Package is something you'd want.

I will, and i'll try! keep in mind, i'm buying from existing stock at the dealer, since they ain't got one, means I ain't got one to see

Buy a used v8. Seriously. If not then buy a used v6. Also how did the acceptable car line get drawn between a 300+ hp 2 door rwd sports car and a 400+ hp 2 door rwd sports car?.... used v8, and pay the dude $50 to debate it before you get there

1. Damn, okay.

2. IMO i could not spend good money on car just to have it be outdated in 6 months. this is just my 0.02 cents but spending a bit more and having it be "new" for 5-6 years sounds like a way better thing to do.

Plus then you can get the 2.3 turbo.

that's a good argument, but I need a car by September because school, and both my parents work, so I can't take their cars. bus isn't an option either because my school district is weird like that.

hahahah, yeah i'd love it if that worked!
sadly, having a mom who is a car person does have it's downsides from time to time, like the fact that her need for safety beats out my want for a panty-dropping muscle car.

Who's paying for this car? Requiring you to get a new car, let alone a new Mustang, is probably not the best thing for you mom to do from any perspective. You should just get a year old GT.

You might not believe this (me being 16 and all) but i'm paying for the car, because my grandmother knew my love of cars, and left me an insanely large (for a 16yo) amount of money for me to use to buy my first car myself. so i'm buying it, but the money is being kept on my mom's account, so I can't USE it exactly how I want until after the car purchase (when it will be transferred to my account for me to use)

Get a V6 and enjoy it. I got my V8 95 Mustang when I was 17. If I could do it again I would have get a I4 Fox body or a V6 sn95. The insurance was murder for that V-8 in my teens and twenties. I still have the car but honestly all the $$$ I spent for insurance for V-8 VS V-6 I could have done so much more.

I've had mine for 2 years and 32,000 miles now, no complaints. Averages 27mpg and is surprisingly good in the snow with 4 wheel snow tires, if that helps any. If you can get one for $6,000 off, that would be an absolute steal.

I compromised and bought the V6, because my budget allowed for either a base GT or a loaded V6, and I decided the current V6 is fast enough and I'd rather have the creature comforts.

my budget allows for a base V6 and a lot of savings or a fully loaded v6 and 1/2 the amount of savings
