BBC America recently showed an episode "Best of Australian Top Gear", and while a brief glimpse at an epic road trip to Lake Eyre looked interesting, everything else was painful. As an Aussie, I was offended by how dull the three Bruces made cars. So, tell me which episode I should watch of a non-UK Top Gear series.

Saw that one too. It was good.

I love "cheap car" challenges much better than new car showcase challenges. Much more interesting.

Alaskan convertibles from TG-USA would be a decent option.

I agree with this. TGUSA got way, way better once they decided to stop aping the format of the original TG.

This was the first ever Top Gear episode I couldn't finish.

concur 100%, UK's cheap porsches or "supercars" for price of a mondeo may be some of my favourite episodes.

It really is my favorite part of top gear, challenges with a budget-cap. It's best when they involve car-mods too.

I enjoyed the viking truck episode of Top Gear USA.

But my favorite episode has to be the Mammouth Mountain SUV episode

I enjoyed the US episodes when they did the semi-truck/farm equipment challenges. I felt like those really did put the hosts in a difficult challenge. Plus being a midwest farmboy I can relate to them better than climbing mountains or racing supercars

This. It is a great laugh watching them try to operate Machinery.

Yeah, the star was the only kind of good thing there. There reviews were alright but nothing like UK.

Most of the newest season of Top Gear USA has actually been really good. They've done the smart thing and done away with the 'News', 'Lap times', and 'Star in a ____ Car' type stuff, leaving the entire episode for the main challenge. It's a much better, more focused show for it and it helps it to distance itself from the U.K. version.

Personally, out of the most reason season, I'd have to say the "American Muscle" episode, or the "80's power" episode. Both were very entertaining. Though the "Snow Show' episode featured one of the most awesome short schoolbus' ever, haha.

Yeah, having enjoyed the episode where the TGUK and TGAUS hosts faced off, I was disappointed in this one. I gave up after about fifteen minutes or so.
