I unintentionally lost 1lb in the last 4 weeks that the challenge has been going on. I'm unsure how to add my info to the database, as my workout regimen is a bit more in depth than a casual, weight-loss focused exerciser. Suffice to say, lift big and eat big to get big.

Ok, seriously as over-engineered as Yotas are, why are all the motors so bitch-tits weak? I have been looking to replace the Rover, which although it is often broken, it is rewarding to drive and barely flinches when asked to get on up.

But Brian Shaw is an absolute monster of a man, 6ft 8in, 435lbs.

is the effing best.

Unfortunately, my trainers do not think I would fare well fighting at my happy bulking weight, so cutting it is :/

Been running about the last month or so trying to get in shape. Basically work every muscle group I can a mild amount and put emphasis on one or another each day. Followed by eat a shit load. It's been working quite well, cut fat by around 3-4% and gained about 12 lbs.

Not my goal, goal is to gain weight, I'm getting back to pre-knee surgery density and strength. Once my joints, and nervous system have re-adapted to lifting heavy weight, I am focusing on gaining up to 260lb bulk, cut to 235 walk-around everyday weight.

It's not that bad really, considering the engine was designed in the early '90s and saw service until the mid 2000s. They're quite reliable, and if you really want more oomph out of them, you can get a TRD supercharger for the 3.4 V6 and the newer 4.0 V6.

It's also worth noting that they are DOHC engines, so they tend to make power a bit higher up in the powerband, compared to pushrod engines that you typically see in trucks.

One of my marine buddies, is a pretty good amateur MMA fighter based out of KC. He and I go round and round on the science of cutting and bulking, love that guy, but I have no desire to do what he does for fitness, which is why I continued doing Krav Maga, instead of joining him in BJJ, I prefer to win by any means necessary, so I will never get into the ring. Good on you for that crazy kind of dedication in your sport. I think I would try to fight heavyweight or catchweight if I ever did, so I wouldn't have to cut, my nattie weight is now 200-210. And I am strong, comfortable, good stamina (lower body and upper)do to powerlifting set with heavy burnouts sets (1-5 reps, depending on motivation and mood) with moderate weight for giant set (15-45 reps) with high reps.

That,s the way to do it, except for that running, ewwwwww. JK, I do sprints in between squat sets, I used to run distance (CC in high school, 3 mile PFT's in the Corps, and triathlons and marathons in my off-time) I don't think I will ever run more than 2-3 miles again, unless in a dire situation. Also, sprint row, sprint stairs, backward sprints, sprint pull-ups, burpees over distance (sets for 100 meters, brutal, soul-crushing exercise). Good job on the cut, I think i've cut about 1-1.5% body fat, cutting and dieting and training are easy for me 90% of the time, that other 10% is lorded over by my wife who eggs me on to staying in bed, eating outside of my planned meals; but I love her so I will work that much harder to work that stuff off. Swimming is the only long distance cardio I like, I grew up on Naval base swim teams, swam in high school, competed at state championships, became a swim instructor in the Corps, I can seriously swim for days and days, but it is great for fat-burning, but you lose a lot of foot speed, either in distance or in sprints, lung capacity goes up tremendously the more you do it though.

Yeah they are the most reliable on earth, until they are not, there are some crazy horror stories about the few bad ones. I almost bought a 97 80 series cruiser last summer, but just moving the behemoth onto a road from a grocery store driveway was scary slow. My rover, makes all its power between 1k and 3k, and it will be the second thing I miss most when I get rid of her in the next few months (first is the interior, the smell, oil mixed with real leather, mmmmmmm)

A bit like going to the UK, I could probably lose 15-10 because the food is so f*cking awful.

ARGH, kinja ate my thoughtful reply!

But yes, I began in Krav Maga and IMO it is definitely the best option for self-defense purposes... a lot of the stuff I do in sport jiu jitsu is absolutely counter-intuitive to what I (a 5'3" woman) would do to survive an actual altercation!

Also, I follow a similar weight lifting philosophy as yours, though I top out around 170 (Yes, it is hilarious when people try to pick me up thinking I must be super light and tiny because I am short and have no fat rolls). I would be much better off fighting around 154 due to my reach and the competition, and I shouldn't have much trouble hitting that since I can't lift for another few weeks following my surgery last Thursday :(

Damn, yea that's some pretty intense stuff. I've always been shockingly fast in short sprints but always disliked distance. And swimming... Hah. I think I'm your polar opposite as far as swimming goes. Hate it with a passion.

Arrrggghghgh, I too have had a training set back due to necessary surgery. It sucks to get your confidence back after major structural "maintenance" has been done, took me a year to get back to heavy deadlifts but my form is better now than it ever was, squats are still very difficult, i have been working on my mobility to resolve my issues with getting to the bottom of the hole with heavy weight. I used to rep out 25 reps with 315lb before the surgery and I maxed out at 575lb, but I was so in the zone I blacked out and did 5 reps. Anger, disappointment, and hate are the best igniters I have ever experienced. Did the same that summer on the leg press, intended to max out 1-2 reps with 1100lbs, but I got pissed because I smashed my thumb with the plates while loading up and did 7 reps after I pressed out the 1st rep and blacked out, my buddy was training with me and told me about the events, crazy to see what is possible when you can shut off most of the brain.

I am a freaking human dolphin, I need to start doing drills again with my wife, she likes swimming with me, but because I have to instruct as well, I need to either swim in BDUs with the pockets open, or attach some weight to my torso to make it more difficult, otherwise I don't get as much out of it when she is ready to go home.

Way to go! And mine was more "preventative maintenance," so I'm hoping once my squishy organs are healed up it'll just be like coming back from a rest day...

I started eating less and working out more than I ever have, and so far in the past 2 weeks I've gained 6lbs... Please let it be muscle mass.
