Car is rated at 15 city/23 highway. Not bad. (cruised between 65 and 70 the whole way)
What is your car rated at, and does it overachieve or underachieve?

My car is rated 15 City / 26 Highway. Car computer always says 18 MPG no matter how I drive. I think it is a little higher because granny shifting not double clutching like I should.

Rated 18/25. Average 14/22.
Fuel computer averaging in idling and stuff probably skews it.

I wouldn't trust an average economy gauge after a short enough trip for the fuel gauge to still be on full.
As far as my car, the revised EPA numbers are 16/26 (versus the original 19/27). My car is not stock, but here's what I've done so far: fuelly link . I would probably call it 15/25 now, even though I can easily get it lower than that, and have gotten higher than that.

What make and model car is this?

I had just filled it up after driving for 260 miles. The fuel economy does not reset until you hit reset; otherwise, it will keep averaging over months and many fillups.

It's a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.

Gotcha. I guess my car will do it the same way, I'm just used to resetting the trip every time immediately after filling up. What kind of rpm does that pull on the highway? If it cruises under 2k on the highway, then I can easily believe the computer is pretty accurate.

Its at about 1600 RPM at 65 mph. 1750 RPM or so at 70.
