And so are my new Thule Roof Racks for the FiST. If it wasn't so damn tiny I could just put the snowboard in the car but it doesn't fit.

Thule and Yakima no longer make roof racks for my car, so I'm forced to buy a set of Sportracks instead come the fall. Luckily, they're a subsidiary brand of Thule, so I'm hoping the quality will be there. However, I'm still miffed at the lack of an available wind fairing...

But what size is the snowboard? I'm considering the Fiesta but I don't really want a roof rack, so a snowboard and a pair of skis would have to fit in the trunk with the seat down.

It's a 155 cm, the thing is I'd be bringing more than one board and plenty of gear/beer/food/beer (AUSTRIA TRIP FTW) and space would be limited inside.

I'll probably never go to the mountain alone, the closest place to me is down south near Switzerland (4 hours) so I'd need that passenger seat for my co-pilot.

Even with the seats down? The Golf has that middle pass-through in the back seats that seems to be designed for skis. I've been able to fit skis in every sub-compact I've owned just by folding down the 40% side of the back seats, which technically still leaves room for 2 cramped passengers back there. Sometimes I have to move the driver's or passenger seat forward a bit to make it work though, depending on the length of the skis/boards.
