Rallycross anything. Seriously, anything. It can be a shit car and it'll still be the greatest thing ever.

Me and my friend are thinking about splitting costs and buying a rallycross car together. We want it to be a manual and RWD, cause nothing is faster in dirt than RWD, right?

I was thinking older rotary Mazda. Although, owning an old Volvo would net me internet cred.

That's a reasonable plan, I know quite a few people who share rallycross cars. Just make sure you agree ahead of time on how you share maintenance/damage/upgrade expense.

Well it won't be our daily driver, so it doesn't matter where it stays. We don't have a plan yet, but mods and car will be 50/50 basis obviously. I am thinking 50/50 on everything would be the best bet. Keep it simple and fair. Now just time to figure out what car to get. . .

Also would be fun, but the lack of torque from a rotary probably wouldn't do any good in the dirt

Didn't think about that. I was also thinking about AW11 MR2, cause lift off oversteer!

Use the FR-S! lol

Half-kidding. One of my friends down here tried to drift his FRS on a dirt road and nearly hit a fence. He still had a great time though.

I have considered it! Not a good idea, but still.

I once spun the car in a snowy parking lot and came within a foot of a snow bank. Pants were shit, despite their being no danger what so ever.

1. Purchase RX-7

2. Hoon

Also, if you keep posting videos about rallycross I think I might end up destroying my car.

Yesyesyesyesyes!

Rallycross is whatcha do with a beater. It just is.

Alternately, contact the group and ask if anyone wants to give a newbie a codrive. Be up front about your abilities (just in case you're uncomfortable with manuals, anything with too much more power over what you drive, or anything) and ask. Can't hurt. Here, the organizers usually have several loaners. Offer to pay fees/gas/etc., of course. A looooot of folks are willing to share their cars so someone else can get into the sport.

I would be willing to ask, but events cost 80 bucks! That's a lot of money. Maybe next year, so I can cut it into my racing budget. It would be fantastic!

And my abilities are endless! I just can't drive on dirt. . .
