These are great cars. Maybe the high point of the E Class, when they still felt like they were built to a standard more than a price. Before the Mercedes Dark Times.
And so clean and elegant to look at!

And the body structure is like a bank vault. I had a '91 300D. Solid solid solid...just incredible. 42 mpg at 70 mph...and so stiff that I found myself going down bumpy roads at crazy speeds and not even knowing it because there was NO twisting in the body.
