Most probably. There's a feral cat colony behind my apartment block and I always watch them from my window. In fact, there's one there right now. It's fun observing their movements, but at night there'd always be some form of screeching as they battled it out.
Story: when I lived in Ireland in the countryside, cats would always use to come to our back door and we'd feed them. One of them, a big ginger tom, was probably a former domesticated car. He loved our company and was one of the most affectionate strays ever. Another white cat that infrequently appeared seemed like it had incontinence - it peed and made messes absolutely everywhere. The two didn't get along well and inevitably one night, they got into a tussle right in front of the back door. The ginger one tore away at the white one so quickly that clumps of white fur flew everywhere. Needless to say, the white one never showed its tail again...

Am I the only one who thinks that cats sound a lot like screaming small children when they fight?
