I've been interested in getting a welder (in the future). How do you like your Miller?

I really like it. I have the Millermatic 211 and the Diversion 180. Great for hobbyists.

Just for a hobby. And farting around with motorcycle frames. Been trying to practice my tig on thin wall tubing so I can fab up some custom exhaust if I so fancy.

Not a bad idea. Most of my welding experience is more industrial in nature; strong but ugly.

How much does a rig like that run if you don't mind me asking (your comment about custom exhausts has me daydreaming)? Maybe that's something I should work on in my spare time.

The 211 was pretty affordable, but the Diversion was still pricey. I can't quite remember what I paid, but I lucked out and was able to get a 15% rebate on both welders. Miller does the "Build with Blue" promotion periodically where you can get a rebate off the purchase price if you buy like 150 in Miller accessories. By the time it's all done and said, Welder, tanks, cart materials, helmet, gloves, rods, etc etc I think it was about 4 grand? Cyberweld had the best price, and I was able to get 15% off that.
