If only I could legally import one... There are handfuls selling for under $10,000 usd over in Europe.

MMMMMMM DAT ASS THOUGH

Why does our country not allow us to import really awesome cars? New Euro cars would meet emissions.

The Brera looks great, hopefully they aren't terribly unreliable. (Because Alfa)

Dat sexy body riding on a GM/Fiat platform.
These actually were pretty meh to drive IIRC.

These depreciated terribly here, very tempting cars at the price theyve hit. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv…
That one ends up around $7700

Sexy car

How about a 159 estate for $4600?

The cost for the manufacturer to meet emissions / safety standards outweighs the profit one could make thanks to Americans reluctance to drive small sized, small displacement, manual transmission vehicles.

I mean, you're talking about what is essentially a 10+ year old economy car wearing a fancy suit. I'm not at all surprised they sell for that cheap.

There's absolutely no good reason. It's an issue that's unique to the US and, to a slightly lesser extent, Canada. Pretty much everywhere else, there's no kind of import time limit.

Saw a bunch of these in Italy. love em

They're generally seen as more of a luxury car than an economy car, and the saloon/estate 159 is actually quite a bit cheaper.

Indeed. But, well, LOOK at it. Fuck me.

Well, I have a 90's Fiat, how hard can it be? :p

If I ever get to move to Italy and all, I'm definitely buying one of these, right after I ship my Tipo over there!

True. I guess I just expected them to be a bit more.

Haha, Fiat Vs. Alfa reliability who wins?

Good question, but in my car's defense, I spent all day prepping it for inspection this Friday and all it needed was a new fire extinguisher because the old one is past due and you're legally required to have one with you at all times.

I have always wondered if its the same reliability as early '00s US market VWs.

DOT and customs suck and want to make their own silly rules. Plus MB had great lobbyists in the '80s. This is one of many reasons why I HATE Mercedes benz.

WANT SOOOO BAD
![]() 07/23/2014 at 19:14 |

Haha, that actually sounds like a valid rule to keep a fire extinguisher inside your car. I'm guessing that your Fiat is one of the more reliable ones out there :)

Curses! Still 6 years from being able to import the first year here
![]() 07/23/2014 at 19:16 |

Well, it's been well taken care of and all, but yeah, my old man used to say that if Fiat built one single good car in their whole story, it's my Tipo.
![]() 07/23/2014 at 19:16 |

I'm guessing it's a mixed bag, with all Alfas of that year range. Some are reliable and some aren't. just like early 2000's Volkswagen products.

I would still love to DD a 159 Wagon just on looks alone.

Haha, glad that you have been talking great care of it! It would be nice to still have those on the road.

But that is one damn sexy suit.

The one and only one I've ever seen was parked on a street in Florence. So much presence in person. Really great looking car. I've heard the oomph factor is somewhat disappointing.

Very nice. A friend had one identical to this. Unfortunately he didn't care for it and saw it as a cheap runabout till he had more money coming in (he was a student).
