!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the wagon is likely on the way out.
I think I'm going to get a beater for a while as not to sink deeper into debt.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! looks mercilessly slow, but it's cheap, has a stick, and gets nearly 50 mpg.
Plus, I can be like the Williams brothers and convert it to a rally car later.
And it's hatchy and angular and I'm pretty crazy about the design.
But is it reliable? I don't know. It's a Mazda B3 engine, fuel injected.
Should I buy it?

Do it. It's like a smart car but not for idiots.

for 800 yes. for 1200 maybe.

I think I'm going to offer 1000.

no matter what you are willing to pay start a couple $100 below. Not a couple $100 asking price. It's a negotiation. The car is probably worth $600-$800.

1000 seems pretty good, but I'm slightly biased as everything rusts here horribly.

Those things can take a beating and keep going like nothing I've ever seen. I knew a guy that used one for a paper route, and put over 100 miles a day on it (over mostly unpaved roads) and got 50 MPG more than once.
And this one, having working A/C, is probably the definition of unicorn.

Here too, which is why I'm surprised those wheel arches aren't gone.

if you ca get it for 900 go for it if not I'd suggest a honda crx better gas mileage probably more reliable and also serves as a base for a rally car.

Its a Kia Pride
I'm not sure how reliable one of the early Kias would be.

Yes, but it's also a Mazda 121, which I'd trust much further.
Mazda built the whole thing. Kia was basically a Ford/Mazda crosspromotion back then.

I've always wanted a CRX, but they're getting really expensive around here. I looked at one several years ago that was pretty much rusted in half and the kid wanted 900 for it. It wouldn't start or run.

what the hell those are beaters they shouldn't be even close to expensive. 900 for a rusted out shell what the hell? You should be able to get one in decent shape for 1500

I had one years ago and loved it! They drive like go karts and although slow they're a blast to drive. The 88's though were carb'd not fuel injected.

A closer inspection of Wiki says you're right. Injection didn't come until '90. That means my hp would drop from 63 to 58. Bummer.

No argument here. There's a pretty decent one for 1800, but it's an automatic, and an automatic CRX shouldn't even exist. Then there's this.

Meep meep meep meep... What the hell is that it's got 172k on it and he's asking 6500??? Sure it's clean but just cause you "basically" did a full restoration on it doesn't mean it's worth anywhere even close to that.

Step 1: Buy
Step 2: Swap a SHO engine in
Step 3: Kill at stoplights

As long as I'm dream-swapping, why not an EcoBoost from the Fiesta ST? It could be the three-door Fiesta ST we should already have.
Actually, I'm really interested in that 1L 3 cyl EcoBoost of Ford's.

Good luck finding a Fiesta ST engine, and they do have a 3 door fiST, it is just not sold here

Indeed. But we're dream swapping, remember?
And as long as I'm dreaming, you're right about the SHO engine. I totally forgot that the SHOgun was based on the Festiva.

Ooh. Or a rotary swap. The Festiva is also the Mazda 121, so that shouldn't be too hard, right?
