There are no m7's, and as a former 740iL owner I can assure you that there should never be one.

fully aware there are no M7s, my internet sarcasm must be weak today

That's ok I read your title and the "would this be a good first car" title as one and thought oh, an m7 as a first car. Sure whythehellnot?!

The fact that there are no m7's is one of the last rays of hope that I keep alive for the brand. I must not abandon my mantra: there are no m7's, there are no m7's, there are no m7's...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

just saying... Audi S8, Mercedes S AMG, Jag XJR, hell even thePanamera Turbo S. Everybody else is doing it, I fully expect to see one in the next decade.
I agree though, never should it exist.

There is no need for an M7 when we have the Alpina B7
![]() 07/20/2014 at 23:22 |

Its not going to be called "M7". Its real name is BMW EfficientdynamicssportactivehybridMseriescoupesportsutilityvehiclei7sDrive35is

The B7 is completely acceptable, it is a touring car upgrade. M is for performance, the antithesis of luxury and everything the 7 series represents.

It does't surprise me to much when I see that on old 7-series.
What does surprise me was that I saw one a week or so ago on a BRAND NEW 7-SEREIES

M\\ cars havent been the "antithesis" of luxury since the E30. But, maybe thats what you meant about by losing all but the last few rays of hope for the brand.

Thats what the 760li is for! 6.0L Twin-Turbo V12 FTW!

That's exactly what I meant (most of the problems are easily remedied while putting in the roll cage and racing seat you just start ripping out the "luxury").
![]() 07/20/2014 at 23:35 |

Precisely. Though personally, I'd save $28k and buy an Audi S8.
![]() 07/20/2014 at 23:46 |

Hahaha, that will definitely fix the luxury "problem".

The S8 is inline with a 750i than something like an M7. Audi has not made and they don't have an RS 8 (which, if it exists, would be like an M7 or B7 Alpina).
