That's a hand clutch, isn't it? Shifter for a bike engine shouldn't move around that easily.

No, that's the shifter. The linkage broke and the lever was just flopping around. This also meant I was stuck in third gear for the entire course.

Ah, gotcha. That layout reminds me of UT-Arlington's hand clutch, that's where my mistake came from.

We used to have the clutch as a lever on the shifter, but we don't anymore. Not that you really need it, just grab a gear and go.
