True, Im just tired of people calling it out as a bad car, when they haven't driven one for as long as I have. It had its issues yes, but nothing that couldn't be fixed for under 100 bucks..

Yeah thats the problem, In most cases these are bought as first cars for kids. I bought mine of a girl who took pretty good care of it, was clean, all oil changes were done on time, so didnt have too many issues. There are a few around that are relatively good, but even as much as I like them, $5k is just too much for these.
Edit: yes the 35th Anniversary edition is really worth it

Get the V6 with the 5 speed, I haven't had as much sideways fun in any other FWD car . The back end is really light so it does tend to be fun (most of the time lol)
