1969 (1/2), Best year for Chargers!
And really muscle in general.

1968: Corvette C3. Introducing a whole generation to curvey body shapes and pointy, aggressive front ends.
1969: 240Z. The first Z cars were released in late 1969, as a 1970 model year (much like how the Mustang was released in 1964, as a 1965 model). It started racing immediately.

I must agree.

I disagree. We've got a 68. Love the round taillights, and no split grill, not that split grill is a concern on a 500.
Doesn't a Charger 500 count as a 69, with the Daytona being a 69.5? Daytona came out midyear (April-ish.) [/pedantry]

It's great looking and it held the fastest production car record for 16 years. (I do realize that the oil crisis might have something to do with that)
Answer #2 All the muscle cars!

Nice ride! Jealous.
I don't know that much about Mopar, sorry if I messed up years! All I know is I love dat ass. Not a fan of the Corvette aping round tailights, unfortunately. The no split grill though, that's nice. Is there a best of both worlds?

I prefer another '68/'69 Mopar muscle car.

It's dad's. He's had it since 72, it stopped being plated when I was 2, and now the engine is out of it. Hopefulyl it'll go back together before the end of the year.
Yep, 70. No split grill, horrizontal taillights. Does have fake vents on the doors, but other than that.

Cool, man! You should do a series of posts about getting it on the road again if that's practical, it would be cool to see!
That's the one. Tomorrow I'll post it! haha

I've thought about it. The problem is, I'm 700 miles away from the car now. I could post dad's updates as he sends them, once he gets back in full swing on it.
Good color combination, that's what ours is, except red interior. He's even ran those wheels, which weren't available in 68, since sometime in the mid 70s. Car will be mostly original...but the wheel covers aren't going back on. It'll keep those wheels with some wider rear tires, since that's how the car spent most of it's life.

68-69. I hope you are pleased with yourself and that this makes you happy and I hate you.
P.S. The RS is awesome isn't it.

Easy - 1968 L30/M20 Camaro. One of the best sleepers. (Maybe I'm slightly biased)
Also good choices would be :
69 Camaro Z/28
69 Corvette ZL-1
COPO cars
Hurst/Olds 442
The Judge
Hemi Dart
Etc....

I'm happy they used a first gen in the movie but those flares are hideous. Just takes away from the lines

Gotta vote for the C3 Corvette. Those early years of that generation were among my favorite growing up. I used to dream of someday owning a 1969 coupe. Now I'm older and I like the C2 Vettes more, but those first few years of the C3... before the engines started getting weaker... love 'em.
