Here's another great reason to browse enthusiast forums. That $11,500 car is now a $7,500 car. This is literally half of what he was originally asking.

7500 is more like it. I'd show up with 7k cash, he'd take it.

you may even get it for less, who knows.
He's been trying to sell it for a while and he hasn't been getting much interest. I'm guessing most people who want an E34 M5 want it as original as possible.

Damn, that's a great great deal!!! Wish I were staying in north america :(

HOW HASN'T THIS BEEN SOLD YET

while i agree, the more original the better, it is a one owner car, the guys house is large, he may be wealthy, may not *need* the money and may not just unload for some crazy low ball.

I'd buy this car. It seems like it was maintained well and the mods aren't bad. I'm almost certain $7k would take it. If he genuinely wants it to go to an enthusiast and you show him how much you love the car I bet he'd take even less.

Brian buy it before I go halfsies on it with my dad.
Do it.

Import!! I'd imagine this would be a valuable car in Japan.

I can't :( I can't obtain space for it.

That's currently my problem too.
Can't just leave it at your folks house?

THAT'S WHERE I WAS PLANNING ON LEAVING IT

did they say no?

I happen to live there, and we have 5 cars already, so yeah, they said no.

WAY too high mileage for Japanese... They are scared to death about high mileage cars unfortunatly... Otherwise I would have brought my Corvette ;)

Tell them it's only temporary, enjoy/hoon it until they really get sick of it and then sell it to me. It's foolproof.

Only if I could apply a $5k markup

yeah I heard they didn't like high mileage cars but I always assumed high mileage to them was over 200k. My Japanese neighbor is pretty well off (his dentist father sends him money) and he's still driving his Acura TL type S with 146k on it. He says he'll sell it once it gets "high mileage" around 200k.

I'll be completely honest, if you hold this car for a few months I'll pay extra for it. Not $5k extra but you'll have enough to buy a new set of wheels for the FiST
![]() 07/13/2014 at 19:35 |

But I can't hold it for ANY amount of time!!! There's physically nowhere to put it.

now would be a good time to convince your parents to install a garage lift. I can't go up to Jersey and bring the car back for a while unfortunately.

I don't think our garage is tall enough to be honest. Or else I would've chipped in and helped get one already.

He spent too much time in the US I guess hahaha
A "high mileage" car in Japan is a car over 100.000km (60.000 miles)... Over that it's pretty much not worth anything to them lol
