And it's going to sound something like this:

Just getting the exhaust (axle back) for now; hope to get the test pipes and tune in a few months.

A family friend bought aftermarket exhaust for his E92 M3. Corsa, I think. Either way, that thing sounds phenomenal.

I just got an exhaust for mine a few weeks ago and the only thing I regret is that I waited so long. The modding bug bites harder after you get it so don't be surprised if you start looking for superchargers.

What did you get?

Thankfully (or not), I'm far too frugal to drop the kind of money it takes to heavily modify my car. Also, at the moment, I'm planning to keep this car for a long time, and I'm not sure about a supercharged S65's life expectation.

The ones in the garage/driveway are angry they're not on the racetrack.

A friend has a Corsa on his supercharged C6. Sounds wicked...

nice, getting the bumper fixed while you are at it?

That C6 is unreal. Hard to believe it is a quieter exhaust than when he purchased the car.

Ha! Getting the exhaust to make me feel better about the bumper...

Just need a couple more 100 degree days and it will hardly be noticeable.

The lopey cam really makes it. I need to get video next time and post it.

I plan to drive mine til the wheels fall off too, but the power levels make it tempting. I ended up getting the cheapest exhaust available (more money for gas) and got the cnt racing for 470 shipped. Installed it myself and it's sounds so good. Has some nice burbles on downshift which should be amplified when I go bpm stage 2 catless.

It's amazing how quickly you can acclimate to 400 horsepower - ha!

Sounds pretty good from the clip I found. How much louder than stock? Fitment good? Any drone? I'm planning to spend not too much more than that on my Megan (haven't ordered it just yet).

Also planning to go with BPM Stage 2 at some point.

Yes there's drone but I don't mind it, it stops droning at my cruising speed at about 85 mph. It's loud! It's as loud if not louder then the eisenmann race I've heard but it makes such a good sound. Fitment is great and the tips on it look so good. I'd recommend it if you know you can live with the amazing noise.

What exhaust are you going with?

If I had money burning a whole in my pocket I'd get an IPE. Just craaaazy.

It is crazy, and sounds wicked, but way beyond what I'm willing to pay. I'm actually going the frugal route - Megan Racing Axle Back (unless I can find a nice used one for about the same price).

Ha! Goes with your plate! Very nice.

I'm 36 with three little kids, and park in a concrete garage at work. Looking for something that sounds meaner than stock, and one I can hear more of in the cabin, but I also would rather not piss off my neighbors or building security - ha!

oh yeah I'd never spend that much on an exhaust.

The Megan racing axle back sounds mean! With people taking delivery of M3's and M4's there should be a surge in used parts for sale on forums. I'm looking into getting a BMW performance exhaust for my 328i soon.

Then I think the megan might be more made for you. To bad those electronic valve exhaust cost as much as a used supercharger, otherwise I'd rather have one of those.

I like the sound in the second video. It's impossible to tell from videos how the exhausts actually sound on these cars. I know a guy who is on his 4th exhaust setup because he can't find exactly the sound he wants.

As for me, I'm happy with the Dinan, which I picked up used for $1,100. I love it, but when I have a second car I can use (plan is to get a truck for winter) I might open it up some more with an xpipe with high flow cats. I can tell you that I would've been disappointed had I paid full MSRP for the Dinan, but I feel like I got good value for what I paid for it.

With the Megan system I heard it's safer to buy a nice one used if you can find one. Apparently fitment is great on some units and awful on others.

Anyway, about the video clip - maybe I can get one this week if I have a few minutes after work one night!

I put a feeler out on the boards to see if anyone has one (Megan or otherwise) for sale anywhere around me. Maybe something interesting will show up.

If not, I've heard enough good things about the sound and quality of the Megan that I think I'll be happy with one. I was planning to go the OEM mod route, but I've heard it sounds pretty crappy pair with test pipes.

Good call on the feeler. I'm seeing lots of used non-M parts being offered up for pretty good prices. The exhaust can be bought new for about $1k and I'll be pulling the trigger if I can find a local one for around $600. Because it's OEM it tends to hold it's value pretty well so if it comes down to it I'll just buy new and sell it off for $700 when the time comes.

I'm hoping I can score a set of 219M's from an M3 forum. I'd even be fine with a square set of fronts if it comes down to it.

I've got the 200Ms on PSS for summer and 219Ms on Conti DWS for winter (Tulsa). If I was flush with cash, I'd sell you my 219s and picked up a set of ZCPs!

Kinja'd!!!1

let me know if you ever do want to sell! While I think ZCP wheels are gorgeous I don't think I could pull them off. My car isn't aggressive enough, but the 219's just look great AND 18's are the perfect mix of looks and comfort.

How do you like the DWS? I'm thinking about picking up a set.

100% agree about buying a rear section instead of hacking up the stock unit. It's a boat anchor anyway, wait until you take it off and attempt to carry it to the basement/attic/trash.

They're about the best you can get for a 3-4 season tire, I think. Had them on my old Mazda 3s hatch as well.

Yet another satisfied customer. I have heard a lot of good things about them, can't wait to pick up a set soon enough, hopefully on 219m's!

I found some clean 219m's on m3post but they're in Cali and the guy won't ship! Only $400, crazy bargain.

Me too. I'm actually taking an extended weekend trip at the end of the month, and now I have to think of a new location because I won't be going to Myrtle anymore.
