My uncle owns a Phaeton, or shall I say owned, because he recently sold it, and is driving his supercharged 2002(?) XJ instead. When I found that out I as super sad, realizing I would never actualy drive one of these things. I did get to drive in it though, and that was an experence in itself. His car was a V8 model, not the crazy W12 version, but still had all the proper ammenities. As you might know, that V8 is a 4.2 liter unit that makes 330 hp. It wasn't actualy all that fast, the 0-60 is a touch under 7 seconds, but it is just so smooth that you cant even feel how fast you are going anyway. Smooth is aslo the best way to describe the ride. It rides like a dream, after all, it is a bently underneath. Being only 17 at the time, he didnt let me drive this, but he did let me drive his Cadilac XLR. The Cadilac, being a Corvette in a tuxedo, was quite a lot faster than the Volkswagon, despite being slightly down on power. Also, Being a Cadilac, it had a automatic transmision, but being 17 at the time, all I cared about was the big V8 and rear wheel drive. I actualy got to drive this car agian a few months ago, and I actualy got to romp on it a bit more, and I can report that it certanly is a fun car. I'm still sad that my uncle sold his Phaeton, I am happy that I was able to experence this amazing machine.

(Sorry about the small pictures, Kinja doesn't want to cooperate with me today)

Sad me, is sad. Still, it seems your uncle likes Light blue cars. Oh, and it is a fantastic stable of not too common choices.

unfortunately for you, it had a northstar motor not the Vette one, everything else is the same as the Vette tho.

Only reason it was down on power.

Still an awesome car, I love those things! I also would have been more excited to drive the XLR than the Phaeton.

The XLR Is technically my aunt's car, but they both drive it so it doesn't matter. They aslo have a Jeep Wrangler and a new Lincon MXK.

It may not have the vette motor, but it is the vette chassis, and thats what makes it fun.

Yeah, that was my first car. Was a good little car till it got totaled. Got a Volvo S40 1.9t after that, but that broke, so now I drive my dad's old Infiniti I35.

Lol my uncle also has a V8 Phaeton and a circa 2002 XJR. He has an Alfa Spider instead of an XLR, but otherwise, same garage!

oh absolutely. I didn't mean to be "downer" on it in any way, they are kick ass cars.

I love that generation S40, especially the V40 wagon too :)

I like the Lincoln , though not too keen on having a Jeep.
