While it runs a little rough right now and has a bit of a loose ride, it's nothing that spark plugs, spark plug wires, a distributor car, distributor rotor, fuel filter, full polyurethane bushing kit, K&N air filter, cut filter lid, overdrive unit filter, ATF, diff oil, gear oil, radiator flush, and oil change can't fix. My next purchases should make the car faster than stock if all goes well!

A set of Doug Rippie-valved Bilsteins, and a set of Addco bars, and it's a handling beast! Next, a C5 front caliper/rotor conversion....

Some chassis stiffening and suspension upgrades are definitely next in line. With better brakes, this really would be a capable car on the track! It makes no power above 4,500 RPM, but with shorter gears, intake/runners, cylinder heads, and a cam it would probably make ~300 whp.

Geeky question: how much work is it to change the bushings on one of those?

I'm not completely sure, but it'll probably be pretty difficult for a straightforward job. It's a pretty complicated suspension layout, but I'll find out soon!
