So I just got back from driving the Model S, Wowee. I drove the standard 85 version and now I was extremely impressed and I can only imagine how incredible the P85 must feel. Throttle response was sharp and it built up speed effortlessly whether it was from a standstill, from thirty to eighty, it just went. There was minimal whine from the motor so the drive was silent save for the buildup of wind noise at speed but even that wasn't excessive.

I wasn't doing any aggressive driving but I did take one corner at some speed and I was amazed at how sure footed and eager to turn the car felt despite the 4,600lb weight. It's one ting to read about a low center of gravity and another thing to experience it firsthand.

Steering was responsive and had wonderful feedback and I was only the standard setting. There was a sportier mode available but I didn't find that until I was looking through the vehicle settings menu upon returning to the parking garage.

It took a bit for the regenerative braking to kick in but once it came online, you could really feel the system at work by just letting off the accelerator. The brakes themselves did a wonderful job of bleeding off any speed we were carrying. The representative gave me a quick rundown of the central screen unit but the only functions I ever really used were the climate control and the sound system. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

All in all, it fills me with pride to know that one of he most amazing and advanced vehicles on the road today is built right here in the USA. Well done, Elon, well done.

EDIT: Just found out that today is Nikola Tesla's birthday.
