Amazing how many survivors you start to see once you get south of NY/PA. I'm in car heaven seeing stuff like this not to mention great 70's, 80's, 90's time capsules still being driven.

Hah yeah man I was just on a road trip beyond the rust belt and it's incredible what sort of machines are still being driven without rust. For example, it's literally impossible to find a 99-2006 Silverado in Michigan without rust. And, if you do, they carry a pretty hefty price. Now while I was in the southern states, every freaking one looks like the cleanest truck I've ever seen. Not to mention all of the other beautiful old cars like you've posted.

Good for you! I dont see how people do it up there. I live in TX, and its common for people to pluck a 25 year old car from some random place. And really, all you gotta do is replace a few rubber components. The shop that I work at sees a lot of travelers breaking down on the interstate. We see cars that are 6 years old from Ohio, NY, Pennsylvania, etc that are literally falling apart. It makes me sad.

that's a hell of a little collection someone has there!

My dad's a Mechanic. He semi-retired down to SC from NJ and he is just in heaven working on cars now. He doesn't want anything to do with our rust buckets up here in Michigan.

probably but needed to use it until the last minute as the family haulerdidn't pay much of anything for it so was okay with someone getting a good deal. Listed it on Craigslist and was gone 2 hours later actually kept the price low so that someone would buy it as a fixer upper didn't want a soccer mom thinking it was a great deal because I knew trouble was around the corner so I fully disclosed it issues and sold it to a handyman

I absolutely hate this; all of my cars have had some rust on them here in ohio. I just bought a miata, knowing I would have to have the rocker rust repaired. That's over a grand just for that...I kept thinking: I could have bought a new set of wheels and tires and maybe even new shocks for that money. I am moving a little farther south soon, though I have other reasons as well.

For some reason, the only vehicles I ever see rusting here in Kentucky are GM trucks (Silverados and Sierras). Other than that, things are pretty much golden. There's a first gen Cavalier up the street from my house. Can't remember the last time I saw one of those before now.

I lived in Rochester NY 150 inches of snow average a year so that is what every car looks like from mid October to end of March. Lovely ain't it? :)

My first trip south was filled with confusion. People drive 20 year old cars daily?
