They live in the Netherlands, NPOCP? Haha. (edit: currently drives a '10-ish Mondeo).

More like Mom's ex-boyfriend, amirite?
Get it?
Because men who drive Peugeots are unattractive.

That's true. I was riding my Peugeot road bike a few years ago and got ran over by a car. Haven't looked as good since. :(

Haha, he currently drives a fairly recent Mondeo (2010-ish), I think if I were him I might stick with that...

Kinda looks like a more boring Maxima

If he just wants an economical hatch/sedan the Laguna is pretty good value. My grandad picked up a 2011 2 litre diesel 150hp laguna for £7'000 (about 8800 euros) and it's been great so far. Quick enough for most purposes gets 40mpg with a lead foot and could easily get 50mpg with careful driving. All the gadgets (nav cd changer dual zone climate control) and is pretty comfortable.

keep the Mondeo

I dont think he is particularly looking for economical. He's owned a slew of Rover's in the past and got the Mondeo after his 75.
I don't think he drives enough to justify a diesel.

Fair enough, speaking from experience with a fair few french cars this size. They're comfortable cruisers and decent value but build quality has been a concern on every single french car I've come across, although this car could be different. They're also not very engaging to drive but I assume that isn't an issue at all. Overall it's a fair choice and should make a good DD for someone who values comfort. Personally I'd prefer to buy a newer Mondeo or Mazda 6 but it really depends what you want from the car.

Yeah, and I think he's definitely interested in those two as well.
I dont think reliability is a huge concern as he tends to buy cars before warranties are up, I mean, he's owned 3 or 4 Rovers, hahaha.

It's decent as an interesting alternative, notably better than the 407 it replaced. I kinda like it, although I've not driven one.

Yeah I think anything would be a step up reliability wise in that case haha.

Yeah, I think I actually prefer the looks of the Wagon on this one. But it looks decent as a sedan as well.

Yes, that would make sense. There's no sense in buying a new car of this size as the depreciation is huge.
Or he should buy a Golf. It's what Clarkson always advises those not into cars.

He could just buy an Avensis. Even more boring than the 507 but dead reliable.

Haha, but he is into cars, just not like someone on Oppo is into cars. He cares mostly what it looks like, as far as power it just needs to be fast enough to drive comfortably.

Golf it is then.

But those aren't interesting enough to him.
