I figured the configurator would have been taken down by now.

The new Silverado looks dated.

More chrome=more modern, right?

I think the new one looks pretty good, actually.

Chevy has an unhealthy obsession with chrome on their trucks.

That's right.

It looks good, but it also looks a lot like the old one. The main styling changes are a bigger, chrome-ier, more in-your-face grille.

Yes, I have to admit that I am never entirely sure if I am looking at a '13 or '14 when I see a shiny new/recently washed Silverado.

If I see the grill it's pretty easy to tell, but from any other angle it would take a trained eye to be sure. I think that's why the new truck isn't really selling as well as expected- people buy styling.

Chevy is holding on tightly to the fact that they think that the average truck drive is averse to change and they shouldn't change anything to radically.

But look at the F-150... Sure it's last refresh wasn't anything crazy, but if you look a little further back: OBS -> Jelly Bean -> Current -> 2015 model, those were all significant design changes. Time and time again it's been the sales king... By a wide margin.
