Since the great guys at Jalopnik are enjoying their Fourth of July weekend, I've decided to provide some sort of racing roundup post so everyone knows what the feck is going on this awesome weekend. Everyone is welcomed to contribute to this if I can't list all that's happening.
If you were watching TV last night instead of fireworks, then you possibly saw the third-closest finish at Daytona in Nationwide history at just 0.021 seconds! Sadly, I don't know of any future re-showings of that so good luck!

Anyone else going to the Indycar race at Pocono tomorrow? Should be a good one.

So after watching some historics going three wide through the streets of Monaco, I think I've figured out a way to improve F1.
Make the cars smaller. There seems to be a lot more passing when the cars aren't 7 feet wide.

The F1 race is being carried live in the US on CNBC Sunday morning with pre-race coverage starting at 7:30am EDT.
Also, I think all your ESTs need to be EDT, we're in Daylight Saving Time now on the east coast.

I think going back to V8s would be great...the V6s as Bernie said, sound like C.R.A.P
Note: Kinja blocked me saying that...

Thanks, my cable provider's box won't load all of tomorrow's showings so I was only able to find the rerun of the F1 race rather the live version.

Stoopid NBC showing the Tour de Farce all day on NBCSN and shoving F1 off on CNBC, home of the weekend infomercial block. Thanks to this post, I found out they moved the coverage. Why not shove your all-day coverage of something five people watch and is just a race of chemical additives to the channel that shows nothing all day to begin with? Maybe it would get higher ratings.

What a glorious motorsports weekend. The F1 qualifying session in Britain has already produced some shocking results. I believe there will also be a Continental Tire race on one of Fox channels. It's a delayed translation of the Watkins Glen race from a week ago. It's a pretty cool series. For one, they race truly stock cars.

We're having a Formula 1 season of a lifetime this year, as was already proved race after race, week after week, precisely because of new hardware, and you say we should go back to the antiquated V8 engines with roots from the late 80s only because you think they sound better? Please.
By the way, the issue is not in the cylinder configuration. This year they have energy recuperation in the exhaust system. Loud noise is wasted energy. Put this system on the V8s, and with the same flue flow limits, and they will sound no better than the current power unit.

Another great racing series is being overlooked by many: International GT Open. Brilliant stuff, you can YouTube it, and start at the beginning of the season. Give it a watch, and you will be addicted.
