Alright so my Saturn is on her last legs. Essentially rattling herself apart at the welds so my wife and I decided I should start looking for a new vehicle.
Now I used to have a single ccab short bed Dakota that I absolutely loved but I'm looking for something more modern.
Basically the only requirement is that it has to be a crew cab as my wife and I want kids within the next few years. I would also prefer a midsized truck. I don't work on a farm nor am I a bro so anything larger than a mid size is a waste for me.
So far my number one pick is this nissan frontier from a local car max
I think you'll like this 2013 Nissan Frontier SV I found at CarMax!
http://www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/…
It's a 2013 with less than 10k on the clock, it's a crew cab and while it's not a 4x4 it does have a manual because jalopnik.
I guess my real question is do you think this would be a good truck reliability wise or am I better off waiting on pricing for the new colorado/canyon. It's been a while since I've seriously looked into a new vehicle so any help will be appreciated.

I had a friend in the same boat, looking at lightly used frontiers and Tacoma's He ended up with a new Tacoma (since the price difference was negligible) because he had read that the Tacoma's are just a hair more reliable. Both good choices though. The frontier will slurp down fuel a little more than the Tacoma though, on account of its extra weight.

No 4x4?

Don't rule out the Suzuki Equator ! It's really a Nissan Frontier with a different badge. They're a better value and (to me) more interesting, since you don't see them as often.

My dad bought a used Frontier 07 I believe. Crew cab. With the longer bed. Awesome truck. I like the frontiers more than Tacomas now. More power than a Tacoma. Perfect sized truck in my opinion. Not overly large and big enough to haul stuff and fit a family in.
I put an intake on it. Sounds like a monster when you rev it.

Can you still find them though? I mean I think I've seen one on the road in Illinois

I would love 4x4 but the manual option seems like a fun way to go. My Dakota was rwd and I loved flinging it around on wet pavement and gravel. I just can't seem to find any crew cabs with 4x4 and a manual

Well, the link I posted is for sale in Pennsylvania. And AutoTrader has about 50 of them for sale.

Yeah the nearest one to me that I can find is lafyette Indiana (I'm in chicago) as cool as it would be (that front end is pretty awesome) I don't think it's in the cards

Even if a Tacoma has more miles on it for the same prices you think it's a better option? I'm trying to find something that will last

it's a tough call, i think resale on tacomas are artificially high, that's why he bought new...cause he could get it the way he wants and not be overly punished for it. tough trucks though
