F-types to get AWD and Manual transmission for MY16?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I wouldn't really care for the AWD, but a manual has been all I want in this Jaaaaag. I'd gladly find a way to spend more than $20k over budget if they offered it with a manual transmission.
A gearhead can dream....

I heard those rumors and that a 4-cylinder will be offered, but I didn't hear when. 2016 is very soon!

a lower cost turbo 4 would be pretty cool. If they offered it with a 6 speed manual I'd take it! I don't know if it would sell too we'll if it were auto though.

Too bad a Turbo 4 F-Type would still cost as much as an optioned up C7 Corvette.

Okay, that completely twisted my head around. F-Type manual! But...C7 Stingray!

Actually that news hit the FP a few weeks ago.
Jaguar can keep the AWD, but I'll take a manual V6 S in Firesand Orange, plz.

it would still be a great option. A lot (well, maybe not a lot haha) of people don't want to buy a new Vette. They want something more.... "refined". It pains me to say this but every F-type I've seen had been driven by an older women. Not exactly the demographic that Chevy is aiming for. I know the C7 is way better than previous vettes, but people still have preconceived opinions about them being redneck mid life crisis cars. No one cracks jokes when you roll up in a new Jaaaaag!
I will say, hardest decision for me would be F-type or C7. If I had the dough to buy a loaded F-type S I'd probably be able to afford both haha.

Your argument has no merit. The C7 is aimed at the same buyer as the F Type. The only thing is, the Corvette costs less and is faster than the F Type. Putting in a 4 cylinder model would bring the price in line, but it would make the Jag even slower, less desirable, less reliable and it wouldn't even match the fuel economy of the Chevy. Refinement is an argument that went out the window with the C7.

Yes, I'm acknowledging that the C7 is a great car that is refined and a great improvement over past corvettes. My coworker recently bought an F-type. She's in her 50's. When I asked her why she picked that over an M3, 911, or a C7 she said that she didn't want a manual so the M3 was out (yes, I know I know), her husband has a 993 and she views 911's as a performance car, and for the C7 she said she wanted something luxurious as performance wasn't her main concern.
Ask any non enthusiast which car they think is more "refined" and I guarantee they'd say the Jag over the chevy. I like the C7. It's more likely that I'll get a C7 than it is for me getting a Jaaag. I'd take a C7 over the F-type just because of the transmission. It's a great car but my unpopular opinion is that not everyone wants a Corvette.

So what you're saying is, the F Type is a MILF-mobile.

Yeah although I pretty much said that 2 posts ago. I don't mind though. Just means clean used examples a few years from now ;)
