I know you are joking but wouldnt it be cool if people would donate time/money to other oppos projects? We could build an ecosystem of Automotive Kindness.

Joking? I'm not joking, you're free to send me money, I'll gladly put it towards this.

I totally agree. There are some wicked projects around here that definitely need more funding.

I just shared my original comment to Oppo Proper, Hopefully the idea will catch fire and spread. It wouldnt be entierly impossible to do.

Maybe we should all start kickstarter things. I don't realy know how that place works, I've only heard about it. I need a "sponsor" so I can afford to get some old Koni shocks rebuilt for my DD/Autocross car. I've nearly assembled everythign I need for my suspension. So far I need the aformentioned shocks rebuilt, engine mounts, and sleeves (which are dirt cheap anyway, so I'm not stressing it).

far too complicated for my 5.7

Ya, we need something where oppos can randomly crowdfund eachother for no particular reason

not really this is our show car so only the middle carbs function. The front and back are blocked off.

Well, for me to swap my 5.7 to carbs would be a pretty big deal, I meant.
Whether the carbs are used or not, they look really sweet on there. I've only seen a handful of cars done up like this, every time it's still amazing.

I think if it was done on a state by state or region by region basis, you would have better success. People could actually get together, get to know each other, help out with money or labor and know who this person is and it would be easier to organize something when you need help.

Yes and people who need help with their cars can teach people who dont have much experience working on cars. Party A gets help, Party B gets Knowledge and Experience. Win/Win!

I'm do-it-yourselfing a set of stacks for a Rover V8, because everything out there is pricey. Two sets of motorcycle throttle bodies later, and I shall be groovy.

I don't even have enough money to cry. I can't afford to lose the precious liquids and dehydrate.

I'm thinking of finding a wrecked 5.7 with either a working or blown up 5.7 so I can take the heads and rebuild them to 6.1 heads and do a full head swap, and then use the block to mock up a new intake for the wagon. I'd miss the K&N, but if I can get a better sound, I'm all for it. If the stacks are low enough to stay under the hood and not make a mess, I'm even happier.
It's a while away because I have no room for a spare 5.7 to sit around anywhere.

I can certainly help work on cars. I'm not great with FWD stuff, but that's because it's a pain in the ass. I've swapped motors and rebuilt them. I'm not knowledgeable on transmissions, but I can do most other things. You have to do your own work when building your car on the cheap. I WILL BE COMPETITIVE IN AUTOCROSS SOME DAY!

I have book knowledge about cars, I would love to be able to gain experience working on them though
