so I was in Mexico, went past Ferrari storefront in Cancun, two Maseratis, zero Ferraris :)

pic googled, but kinda shows the same lack of ferraris :P

other Mexican car observations. Lots of smaller cars and hatchbacks, so much desire, brands the US doesn't get, small pickups, and manual everything. Our first bus driver was a trooper, he was left foot braking so he could keep the revs up with his right so the POS van didn't stall out at low speeds, no first gear and I suspect no third, very impressive driving.

Lack of Ferraris, but they're ready with a 2005 Acura RL if you want one!

I travel to Mexico regularly on (auto manufacturing related) business but I never drive there. So I'm free to observe traffic from the passenger seat. So much want. They have the coolest small pickups. I have to assume those are drastically noncompliant with US standards or they'd be making versions for export up north.

Oddly, there are far more beetles on the road than Gen 1 Golfs (US Rabbit).

and you remember it because even though it was small it stuck out right? can you imagine taking a Ferrari over any of the speed bumps in that area?

lots of FWD small pickups, I bet they simply wouldn't sell in the US, bet it isnt about compliance more than it is about supply V demand

No thank you! I did see a handful of Rolls Royces, a few R8s, and a Lamborghini while I was there though, so it must be do-able
