I'd imagine most of people who read this car the car guy in their small corner of the world. I had a post earlier today where I totally forgot about the Ford Ranchero. It got me thinking about back when I was first really delving into cars, on my glorious path to being the other car bore I am now. And all the old mistakes, or miss quoted incorrect knowledge I had in my brain. (I was really into Saturn at the time it be my first carnal so obviously if they were the best car brand ever in history of the world, but v8's and supercharged knowledge one did not get from being a saturn fan.) I remember having an argument with a old coworker over whether a turbocharged in-line for was better than a large V-8 for multiple passes got a dragstrip I was convinced I was right, right up until he busted out the video evidence of the the third of three passes made by a large turbocharger small displacement civic (I believe this was several years ago) and showed me it blowing up on the dragstrip while racing a fox body 5.0 Mustang.

I'm sure I was wrong about many many things back in that day but that one stands out as the oh shit my ass just got handed to me on the knowledge front.

I'm just curious if anyone else out there has a story of maybe it was last week or maybe it was 10 years ago but just getting your proverbial knowledge ass handed to you about something car related.

There was a time before I knew a lot about HEMI engines. Now I own one. Full circle right there.

There is this one kid in New Canaan who reallys has a thing for LS motors, like what offroadkarter has.

Sorry, I had to, we brought it up earlier today in Bethlehem. Still funny...
