So now I'm putting an FD RX-7 on my "Should probably have in my garage" list.
I'm also thinking I need a plaque in my cube that states, "You can't fix stupid...but you can numb it with a 2x4"

The answer is yes. IF:
it has the engine rebuild/replacement done
if has the turbo rebuild/replacement done
it has a V8 or you are willing to put one in
Easily one of the most beautiful cars of our generation. I found a sweet one, but it had an automatic.

The whole point of buying one is because 13B-REW. So no V8s unless you want to apply for qualification under my new plaque idea :).
Plus it could easily be a project car. :)

I see that you want to push your average fleet age downward. Not as extremely as I do, however...

Then REW better (13)B sure it has had the aforementioned expensive bits replaced that will most certainly fail. haha Personally I'd own one for the body alone.

Oh I'd buy it expecting things like apex seal failure or turbo failure or various other expensive calamities. Other options include cashing in investments to pay for rebuilds.

I like the can-do attitude. No go get one and post pics! :)

I'll need a little bit more garage space, as I'm out of that at present.
Want to buy a WaveRunner? Garage kept and maintained.
And a bigger truck, and an enclosed trailer...

Don't you mean push the average year of car built downward? Because pushing the age downward means buying new...
