I'm pretty sure you can just take a bottle of sewing machine oil and squirt some in - thence to leak out unpredictably with amazing verisimilitude.

You sir are a genius, don't have sewing machine oil however I do have gun oil as well as wet stone oil. Pictures to follow later this week!
