ever watched an explanation how one of these works? Craziness. Adding pseudo shift points and synthetic shift audio however - terrible

I'm okay with those, they're like salt and pepper to CVT's. Making a super bland experience into something bearable.

*Shrugs* Those people wanted to have their lives ruined. Lots of other fun and exciting options on the market, but people by the thousands pick this instead. Can't really sympathize.

If on something super efficient, quiet, etc I'm cool with it being silent and hidden. But when people add aftermarket exhausts and it goes *bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...aaaa....aaaaaasa.....aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh* then just holds the final tone it's almost maddening waiting for the drop to next gear.

I think the issue here is aftermarket exhausts on a CVT. If the trans didn't have the simulated shift points you'd get that final drone the whole time.

Well, they did make a DCT, if that helps.

I autocrossed a rental car that had one of these. Awful. Car didn't make up its mind and RPMs were all over the place
