Hey oppo! Today while I was in my mom's Camry while she was in the bank, I decided to replicate the "knee and ignition switch" test that Patrick George did with the Camaro. With my iPotato, I recorded this. To cut to the chase, with a knee, the key can be turned to the off switch. Feel free to replicate this.

It's not just the camry. There are a ton of them here, tagged under will it knee.

It's a safety feature to prevent unintended acceleration :-p

I really think the GM ignition recall is a bunch of BS like the Toyota floor mat recall- if you enact a force upon the key that can turn the key into the off position, the car will shut off. It doesn't know your hand from your knee. I don't care what car it is. At least SAAB owners don't have to worry about it.

that's true, with the force. Its a bit...hyped.

Well, OF COURSE your call will turn off if you play with the key. Its like
"Yeah, there is a new recall for break pedal covering and superglue valve addition. Since someone driving with wet and sandy flipflops from the beach crashed against this fruit stand, we have to change the material of the brake pedal and a special valve that adds superglue to the pedal every 5 minutes. We will recall every single car we make, even the matchbox models. Oh, and we havent got enough loaners, so heres a powerwheels from the sons of the dealerships' employees"

Add the "Will It Knee" tag.
