And I'll tell ya why. My Perfect-Unicorn 944 just happened is why.

So I mentioned to some that while I was looking at Mustangs, I was waiting for info on a certain 944, well that info was just emailed to me today. Here's what it is, and my god is this the sexiest opportunity of a lifetime!

1984 Porsche 944

Porsche "Sport" seats(The seats will look like this, not sure how worn though)

Porsche Red(Guards Red)

Tab replaced the timing belt, motor mounts and a gasket when I bought the car.

The prior owner replaced the clutch shortly before he had to sell the car as a result of a job loss.

I think I have fewer than 5,000 on the car from the time I bought it.

NOTE: the 1984 is on-turbo, but it is easier to work on.

Bought car in 2008

The car has always been garage kept and doesn't appear to have any rust.

I am looking for somewhere around $3000 to $3500.

*No... run.... no, No, NO! The only reason I say this is that its an early car. Early 944's can be had for cheap (I'd never pay more than 2K for one... ever) for several reasons

1)You better be ready to search the vast internets for anything that fits that car. 944 racers eat that stuff up since there is not a lot of it.
2) the dash, Oh... meh Gerd that dash

Just look at that beauty... *pukes a little in my mouth*
3) "sport seats" are not a rare option for the 944's... an LSD and short 5th gears were, LSD > sport seats.

I raced 2 early 944's and love the hell out of them. They were great cars to work on and maintain. I really lust after the turbo's but they are too much trouble for what they are worth. A nice like NA will run forever *cheers*

Im sure you know how hard and expensive it will be to get parts right? I know some people that have gotten one with intentions to make them nice and gave up because of that.

And personally i just like mustangs better.
