I do these really long, esoteric seasonal playlists that usually (later on) provide a decent snapshot of what my mood has been during that season.
Anyway, with the start of summer, and a big move, one week from Saturday... It's time for me to start the summer list.
The only definite entries are "Black Summer" by Efterklang, "On The Road Again" by Willie Nelson, Tarkus by ELP and "Deacon Blues" by Steely Dan.
Jethro Tull will end up somewhere in the list, as they do every time, and I'm sure Steven Wilson (in any of his projects), The Cardigans and Nirvana will, too.
Any suggestions are very welcome, hence the Oppost.
Racewagon for your time.

I do the same thing with playlists. Usually by year.

Bands like Wavves, Beach House, Tame Impala, Tennis, and Best Coast are great summery indie bands. Definitely worth a listen.

You better get your Christian on if you're moving to Kansas. I swear every radio station I found driving across that vast land was Christian music. My suggestion is "Exit 244" (mainly because its all I remember).

I'm coming from Tennessee, so it can't be /that/ bad, can it?

Tennessee is beautiful, kansas isn't. Plus country music > christian music (barely)

Something that has to do with tornadoes and hail storms would be apropos. And you can't forget this classic.

Good thing I listen to neither (except for old Country and bluegrass gospel...)

98.9 for rock if you will live close to Kansas City.
Read the music you normally listen to. edit that to 101.1 for classic rock.

I'm a mixed rocker... A mix of old, new and in-between. Porcupine Tree and Opeth have been burning up the playlists lately, so... That'll give you a decent idea of what I listen to. Or, if you have Spotify, here's my summer list from two years ago, when I was driving across the South recording bluegrass festivals.
