Shit, there goes the evening. My wife just called and said she blew a tire on the mini-van. I've dreaded this day, as getting to the spare on this car looks to be a nightmare. It's located right in the middle between the two front passenger seats. I'm hoping her dad can get to her quicker, as I'm an hour and a half drive time.

That is why I pay for the road service through my insurance. They fix the problem. I once locked the keys in the car in a gas stop/sorta truck stop in BFE New Mexico. Called them and they sent a guy to unlock the door. He had to drive 2 hours to get to me. Well worth the cost.

Imagine how much fun that will be after 2-3 winters of salt and sand.

I've done this. On my sister-in-law's van. I told her if it ever happens again she can call someone else. She had a tire shop fix the tire, but they refused to put the spare away. Stupid.

Toyota has it under the floor, but close to the passenger side sill. Sounds like your in the middle. Run-flats and tire monitors, baby.
My Durango has this same crank thingy and you have to crank it a lot longer and farther then you think to get enough slack to remove the center piece. Crank and crank and crank

It's 20/20 hindsight right now...but AAA is pretty cheap.
