Pulled on to the highway right next to a similar one to the pic but different wheels.

Whaaaaa
I didn't know this existed
![]() 06/14/2014 at 17:47 |

apparently it is called Rubino Micalizzato

Ah, good job finding the paint name.
I was able to locate it on the handy Ferrari paint guide I found recently:

BTW isn't it sad that Ferrari has such a wide variety of colors but most buyers order their cars in black or Rosso Corsa?
Even if people are going to order red there are so many types of red. And so many blues too.

the blues are gorgeous

Two blues that I really want to see in person:

I saw a Blu Abu Dhabi 458 last time I was down south. I about jizzed my pants because it looked so good.

:-O
No way!
Was it the best Ferrari blue you've ever seen?
![]() 06/14/2014 at 22:54 |

Yes, it was. I was very tempted to make an illegal right turn to stare at it some more but I would have had to turn right over 3 lanes. . . It was down in Aliso Viejo where I saw it so there is at least one beautiful blue F car driving around down there.

I'm going there tonight. I'll keep my eyes peeled!!!
![]() 06/14/2014 at 23:05 |

Haha good luck in seeing it.
![]() 06/14/2014 at 23:48 |

Haha thanks
Now I'm obsessed with the idea of ordering a 458 in this color.
Wanna buy a kidney?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, I wonder how many of the Blu Abu Dhabi 458's exist. Surely there can't be too many out there and if you don't plan on putting a fuck ton of miles on it, it could be a future classic worth a mint in 20 years. . . But I'd be sad if you got a Blu Abu Dhabi car and didn't drive it and share it with the world.
I wonder if Ferrari releases how many cars were produced in each color offered.
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:05 |

That would be cool if they released those stats.
How does Blu Abu Dhabi differ from the more common Tour De France blue?
I would get it with dark brown leather with tan stitching and piping
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:18 |

I think it is quite a bit lighter and brighter with a little bit of a purplish hue. It is just really pretty. The TDF blue is more of a dark blue right?
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:26 |
|
Very cool!!!
The TDF is kind of dark. It's not as dark as pozzi blue. But it's not really light either.
If Abu Dhabi is lighter and brighter with a little bit of purple then that sounds PERFECT
Man I'm so annoyed that this girl I'm meeting tonight is lagging so bad. She just got home and is getting ready. How am I supposed to find this blue 458 if it's 11PM by the time I get to Aliso Viejo?
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:31 |

Dem damn S.O.C. bitches know nothing but how to lag. . .

Whoa this ad says the car is Blu Abu Dhabi and it's a GREAT price for a 2009:
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/…
But of course it does not have Manuel :(
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:33 |

Seriously... It's so f'ing annoying
Here is TDF blue. It is a bit darker:

![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:33 |

Don't worry about Manuel, you can pick him up out in Laguna Canyon at the day laborer site. . .
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:35 |
|
Hahahaha
If only that would magically create a gated shifter
Does that color look like the 458 you saw?
It seems perfect
It's not as dark as TDF blue and not as teal as Mirabeau blue
But buying an F430 that didn't come pre-loaded with Manuel would be a sin
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:35 |
|
Fuck TDF blue, you're not Lance Armstrong!
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:36 |

Haha very true
I don't even like to bike at all
It's literally a pain in the balls
![]() 06/15/2014 at 00:39 |

I'm pretty sure it was a BAD that I saw, but this was back in december.
And yes, buying a 430 without the gated shifter is a sin punishable with a neverending supply of door dings from fucktard kids and careless parents in SUV's.

We need to go to a Ferrari meet up and check out the colors in person. I missed the recent one in Pasadena
Those would be bad punishments. Also I would get raked over the coals by everyone on Oppo. I think I'd get my Jalop card permanently revoked. It's already bad enough that my bimmers have paddles. The only shot I have at keeping my card is trading them in for a 6ManuelT car.
This chick is FINALLY ready. Thanks for talking blues while I waited for her dumb ass

Man hanging out with that girl was weird tonight. It was 10pm by the time we finally sat down for dinner. I was so hungry that I couldn't finish my food because my stomach had shrank.
And on top of that she was being kind of difficult and annoying.
But she's hot and deep down I think she's a good person. I hope I'm right and that she's not a psycho manipulator like my last chick..
![]() 06/15/2014 at 04:35 |
|
Uhhhh she lives in south OC. . . She will be manipulative. That seems like the MO for them all down there, and partly why I'm glad to be out of there. Sometimes it takes a while for the crazy to show up. Maybe tonight was just an off night for her, but if they keep ending up like tonight best to pull the rip cord, but this is coming from a perpetually single guy. . .
And I just saw your last reply, I'm always up for talking about BAD F cars, as I think that would be one of the only colors I'd think of getting one in. But I'd rather build a bad ass tuner car and buy a reliable DD for the price of one F car. But that is me.
![]() 06/15/2014 at 04:41 |
|
You're probably right. I just can't help myself sometimes. Maybe the nice girls who have no crazy in them are boring to me, I dunno... I definitely need to spend more time in person with her to really get a feel for her personality. We text a lot but don't see each other a lot. Text isn't real. You have to hang out in person.
How do you build a badass tuner car that's CA smog legal?
I can't get the idea of a BAD F car out of my head. I'm addicted to F cars. I got my Dad to buy one and then he bought another one. Seeing and driving his cars makes me want one so bad. I took his 612 out tonight. The funny thing was that the girl had no idea what it was. She saw the horse and asked if it was a Mustang, lolol
![]() 06/15/2014 at 04:47 |
|
Bwahahahahahaha a 612 mistaken for a mustang? hahahahaha. I bet she'd ask if your P car was a beetle in earnest. She'd just be fine thinking your M3's were just 3 series.
Well to build a badass tuner car, you need to have a lift and a spare motor and the drive to swap a stock motor in every two years, or just go the vintage route. I'd love to have a KP110 skyline with a RB26 swapped in and not worry about smog. But there are a few ways around it like the STi swapped 2.5 rs' and that such. You just got to know that you have to do some work every two years.
![]() 06/15/2014 at 04:56 |
|
Now you're really gonna laugh - the 612 is the same color as my 911 (black). I told her it was my Dad's car as she was getting in. She said "it looks the same as your car". I explained that it was bigger and had a V12. Then she said "what's a V12"? Girls these days...
Oh I see! To have a non-classic tuner car you have to swap motors every 2 years. That makes sense. I just thought maybe you stumbled across an easier way around that.
I guess the nicest solution is a restomod. Classic looking body and smog regs with modern drivetrain and suspension.
![]() 06/15/2014 at 05:09 |
|
Yup restomods are the easiest way around the smog regs. But you can do a motor swap and get it refereed as legal with a sticker on the firewall like the STi swaps and just put a new turbo and the like on it and just go and have a conservative tune that will pass smog and just put the monster tune back on when you leave the smog place. Regardless you are going to need to make friends with a smog guy. But AWD they just do a OBDII test and an idle test because I have yet to see a 4 wheel smog dyno.
How the hell do you mistake the long hood of the 612 with the short hood of a 911? Man I'm glad I trained my older sister on cars. . . So much so that she ended up financing high end loans. She would tell me about all the fancy cars that the bank thought were profitable to finance and I would laugh because they were generally wrong on the cars they wanted to finance. I also got her to start calling Lambo's silly Italian trash that would just catch fire. . . I guess her bank would do a bunch of the loans for the Barret Jackson OC auction as well.
![]() 06/15/2014 at 15:47 |

911s are good for restomods too because they have so many interchangeable parts. You can make an older 911 very fast by giving it a faster drivetrain.
I have no idea how you mistake a 911 for a 612. It was dark out but still... The 612 is twice the size of the 997, haha.
My sister knows about cars too because of me and my Dad. She doesn't have one because she lives in SF and has no garage. But she wants one.
That's awesome that your sister is financing high end loans. Ask her if she can underwrite a 30 year loan for me on a BAD 458 :)
