Results, awards, and a photo-dump :)

The winner of the hour-long 9pm race was BKRM3, who double-stinted his #80 911 in the 10pm race as well. Unfortunately only about half the people who signed up for the first race actually participated so turnout was bit low :( On the bright side, that meant everyone who finished got on the podium, so there's that... Maybe when we do this next year we'll have more people or better planning. I think the latter was the one that was lacking...

A momentous win deserves an equally magnificent prize, so behold, the Microsoft Paint-sponsored Fourza Le Mans trophy!

Now, to the results of the 10pm, 24-lap race...

In first place, driving the #66 911 GT3... Newsboy!

Congrats, man!

Newsboy also set the fastest lap with a 3:56 flat, a full two-and-a-half seconds faster than the next quickest time. The other podium steps were filled by myself in the #11 Viper in second and Corey CC97 finishing third with his NFS-liveried M3 GTR.

Top five was rounded out by The Vancen and ly2v8. Here's the rest of the final standings, courtesy of Newsboy (edit: Takuro Spirit actually finished ahead of ATypicalNut00 by race's end, K-Roll isn't shown, and Taylor Hedgie and CamaroBoy both DNF'd, the latter due to losing power):

Finally, I'd like to take the time to thank everyone who signed up for the races. I was kind of worried no one would want to do this or that it would end up being lame and boring but thanks to you guys it turned into the most memorable online video game experience I've ever had. I obviously can't speak for everyone but it seems like all those who participated had fun and enjoyed themselves, which made all the work and planning was totally worth it. Only on a place like Oppo could this have worked. You guys freaking rule, man :)

Please DON'T wait for next year! Do it again in like a week or so! Honestly I was so pissed I couldnt join but I got stuck at work :(

I bet if you did it again like this Thursday youd have a huge turnout!

No worries man, we're planning on starting a regular Fourza racing series you can get in on! I don't know when it will start but be on the lookout, and if you ever want to race just send an invite or post on Oppo :)

Ironically, these are not quite the final standings, but they were taken while we slower cars were on the last lap. I flipped just after this was taken, meaning Takuro actually finished 10th, and I got 11th.

Yeah, there were a couple cars like that, Wrath's Panoz being another. I wonder if it was just because we had so many people in the lobby. Any word on the series starting? I'm going out of the country on the 30th and it'd be cool to get a few races in before I leave.

Not that I know of. Someone tried to set up a Le Mans race in 5 but I'm not what came of it. Seems like people are still playing 4 if you've got it, we'd love to have more people for our racing series.

Just talk at the moment it seems. Nothing solid yet. I would like to see varied classes. Vintage trans am, DTM, Super GT, LMP and so on (different class per race). But these GT3 cars are awesome to drive.

For what it's worth, I had a 16 second lead on lap 4, I had to retire on lap 5 thanks to a puppy being a puppy.

thanks for doing this! In for the next one (or two, apparently!). Will put some more effort into making sure I have a competitive car next time. It's not as fun when you're running 10 seconds a lap slower than the leader!

yeah. I watched the replay on my car, and I was looking backwards and saw you. I was braking and just turned right for the chicane when your car came out of nowhere like a freakin missile right into my right side wiping out 5 cars I think. No big deal just lap 1 of a long race and I knew I had a top 5 car. Funny thing is Hedgie did THE SAME thing to me on the next chicane.

That sucks dude :( Sorry we couldn't fit you into the 10pm race. We do have a racing series in the works if you'd like to race with us again, I think Viggen and ly2v8 are the masterminds behind it.

You're welcome! I was just glad to have people to race with who aren't 13-year-olds. When we start the racing series we'll definitely have to be more stringent on the cars, maybe throw in BOP adjustments or something too.
