Oppo, I want all of you positive thinkings. The GT Academy qualifier ends on Sunday. The four fastest Canadians get to go to New York to race the 28 fastest Americans in the semi-finals. The 16 winners go to Silverstone for the live GT Academy Boot Camp, from which they select the next Nismo Athlete to be a pro race car driver.
I'm currently 10th in Canada, about .2xx back from 4th place. I've taken the next two days off from work so I have the next four days to give it everything I have.

Is it pretty much impossible without a wheel and pedal setup? Last year I perfected the best lap I could and the leaders were still over 3 seconds ahead. There was literally no way I could get another 3 seconds off my time. That was with all traction/stability control off. Good luck mate!

I think you'll find that anyone who has put enough time in to be that good is probably committed enough to the hobby to invest in a wheel and pedal setup.
One person made the US semi-finals on a controller last year, and one the year before, if I recall correctly. It can be done. It's just an input mechanism. Buying a wheel won't make you all that much faster, but it will probably make it easier to spend more time driving, and you'll probably be more consistent over several laps.
