Got tired of only getting messages from scammers and my posts always being flagged for no good reason on CL so I decided to list the bike on eBay.

Never done this before so hopefully it all works out okay.

Kinja'd!!!

That's a pretty bike. Looking for something else or did you just get tired of it?

I am actually getting rid of my motorcycle collection [read: both motorcycles] becasue of Las Vegas [read:tourist not paying attention to anything but the shiny lights] drivers.

Getting out of bikes for a little while. Got tired of spending my whole ride dodging drivers and fearing for my life. Eventually I will move somewhere away from the city where I can ride in comfort and buy more bikes again.

Just as with your 4 wheeler, go get a bike that's built for the dirt. It'll make your Jeep feel slow and boring!

It's great for as far as hard tails go. It handles relativity well (the frame drop will only let you lean so far) and the seat helps absorb the bumps (although I highly recommend avoiding bumps and pot holes where possible).

Man, that must be tough to leave bikes for a while. I do see the safety concern though.

Not really. I've calmed down in my older years, haven't raced since I sold my Daytona last year, and I rather enjoy just cruising and taking it slow. Once cagers started taking the fun out of cruising it was a rather easy decision. Sure I will miss the open road (I rode to Cars and Coffee Saturday and loved every minute of the 5 mile journey as there is no one on the road that early) but I like living more.

Yup, I understand. Does that free up some space for a sports car?

Very nice old Yamahopper. But, correct me I am wrong, didn't they come with a sprung rear end?

Love the kick pedal. Love so much of the old school stuff, I can't name it all. Well done, my man. You did post some pics before, but the EBay let me look closer at it.

I like how you put the bell on the key ring. They say if you lose it on the road you will have an accident. I lost mine sometime in Nov-Dec. last year and had an accident. Superstitious, not really but is happened. Nice job, man. Hope it sells quickly. You are in a good market area for it.

Once both bikes are gone and the DSM is either sold as is or I part it out... I am thinking a 914 might find its way into my garage.

Yes it was initially a standard style bike:

And yes, the bell is important (and not sold with the bike) I received my first one when I bought my first street bike. I attached it to the tree, and one day it fell off. I didn't believe in the superstition of it, then a few months later, I lost control of the bike on a sandy patch, throttle stuck open, narrowly missed a van, nicked a tree and launched off the root. Walked away with a MAJOR concussion and a fractured shoulder. Got a new bell and wont ride without one ever since.

It will sound nicer with a 3.2 6 cyl and G50 trans in it...

Nah, gotta keep it in the Porsche family. Just imagine a 280hp flat 6 rear mount RWD in a 1400 to 1500 lb car.
