Found this at my shop today, its the shop owners
its an '89 FJ62 auto. 160k miles on a rebuilt (at 100k miles) 3F-E engine. Interior looks great, exterior has some cancer as does the frame and there is a dent in the rear hatch.
Asking $4500. Sounds like a lot for something with rust, but FJ60/62's are starting to appreciate right now, especially stock ones like this. And you know its in good working order given the owners OCD towards maintenance (I can verify this is true)
What do you think? NP or CP?

I'd pay $3500 for it. Riding in one of those things is a riot.

With the rust an a cursed engine bay (rebuild at 100K on one of these?), $4000 is top dollar in my book.

Apparently the previous owner was a little old lady who let it sit for a long time (years) then tried to fire it without doing anything other than battery and gas, and did all the damage at once (no oil), it was a full rebuild at the dealer so I wouldn't worry too much about the engine, but $4500 did seem a bit high for me too. I'm sure he would part with it for $4000.

I could see it going either way depending on the intensity of the cancer.

Ahhh that makes much more sense. Too bad I'm not in Utah!

I found a little (pencil eraser sized) bubble on my rear hatch this weekend right next to the rear window glass seal. I think I have to take the glass out to do a proper repair.
